The Relegation Battle

The Relegation Battle

The Relegation Battle for the I-league season 2009-10 goes into the last round of matches which can change the future of any of the bottom lying four clubs. The current standing is given below.

Position Teams                  GP  W   D  L   GS   GD   Points

11           Air India              25  7     7  11  28   -14   28

12           Mumbai FC          25  5   11   9   22   -4    26

13           Lajong FC            25  6    8   11  22   -14  26

14           Sporting Clube     25  5    9   11  29   -11  24

The last round of matches are the following and at this final round there are no favourites and no UNDERDOGS.First let us look at the teams who have the destiny in their own hands. The teams are Air India and Mumbai FC.The bottom two namely Lajong FC and Sporting Clube will have  to win their matches and expect others loose.

1)Churchill Brothers Vs Air India
2)Mumbai FC Vs Mohan Bagan
3)Salgaocar Vs Lajong FC
4)Chirag United Vs Sporting Clube

Sporting Clube can survive if they win their match and get 3 points to take their tally to 27 and expect Mumbai FC and Lajong FC to loose. If so then the losers will be relegated. In another extreme scenario if Air India Loose and the Mumbai FC and Lajong FC win Air India will get relegated. With many other permutations and combinations in between it will be great to follow I-league even in the last round of matches even tough the winners have been already decided.

Those who have power to change things don't bother to;and those who bother don't have the power to do so .................but I think It is a very thin line that divides the two and I am walking on that.Well is pure human nature to think that "I am the best and my ideas unquestionable"...it is human EGO and sometimes it is very important for survival of the fittest and too much of it may attract trouble.Well here you decide where do I stand.I say what I feel.
