Caste based CENSUS

India plans to carry out a Caste based CENSUS.A lot of people are of the view that this should have been done in 2001 itself.The others find nothing new as it is just an extension of the exist SC/ST based census to include the OBC also.Logically yes it is just an extension.But is it worth it.The reason pointed out are for betterment of these backward classes and for framing affirmative actions for the Backward classes.

My personal opinion is this is just another input for fueling the caste based politics run in India.This is just the beginning a ridiculous era where the party politics will be decided on the caste based vote banks.These political parties are just interested in dividing India on basis of caste creed language and religion.These divided bits and pieces are easier to carry in politics and use as vote banks.I am asking even in this modern era why children are asked fill the religion and caste details in all the application forms.Is there no better way for handling education for economically backward classes? All these policies and policy makers want to exploit the rest 99% people who don't fall this elite 1% class.The census is not for playing the cards of caste based politics.It will not take India any where.
