Why we Indians can't play football?

A very recent news regarding Indian Football hurt me a lot and as a football fan I was always been depressed and frustrated with the state of affairs of Indian football. But this one was like a last nail in the coffin. But the good news is that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very much interested in bringing back the good old days of footballing glory back to Indian football! This is an open letter to all the football fans in India and world around. Nobody questions that the fact that India is a sleeping footballing giant! But Nobody knows when will it wake up?!

I have a really bad gut feeling that we won't be waking up soon. The simple reason been that we badly lack the key component needed for football to succeed. And that is team work. Team work and Football are synonyms.

My personal feelings is that Indians are not of the team-work type culture! We are basically of the  "Sarva-vallabhan" (All-in-one) types.  We love our bollywood heros who can sing, dance, fight, bodybuild  and also do fine acting!  We love our Larger-than-life cricketers even though they are not team players. we never could win any team events (remember cricket is not a team game nor in Olympics) it was always individual glory! We want our children to be good in studies and also be able to sing and dance and also play tennis!

I think we ended been a society that produces "Jack of all trades and Master of None" and assumes to produce "Master in all" ! In fact we promote mediocrity and never appreciated excellence. As mediocrity is one man show and excellence needs team work of high standards! We forget the team players and the one who encourage team work! The very simple example is that we remember hit movies by the actor's credit (superstar) and not by the team members!

Above all we can never stand together for common cause above our self interests! I wonder how we got our independence! I won't say things are not changing! Definitely they are! There are lot of startups in town which needs lot of team work and mutual respect to succeed! But it is a rare story!

Hence we rarely appreciate team-spirit! So the bottom line is we Indians can't play football!

And at the least possible case of we playing in Fifa world cup, any time in future,  we will be definitely be a great country with great team-spirit!

Those who have power to change things don't bother to;and those who bother don't have the power to do so .................but I think It is a very thin line that divides the two and I am walking on that.Well is pure human nature to think that "I am the best and my ideas unquestionable"...it is human EGO and sometimes it is very important for survival of the fittest and too much of it may attract trouble.Well here you decide where do I stand.I say what I feel.
